Tech-Tim's Life

Let me start by saying, I am not the guy that has been in IT all my life, with the long straggly hair, the furry teeth and pop bottle glasses. You know the one that takes a bath just because someone claimed they could smell them online! I am not that stereo typical geek that thinks that a wholesome meal is devouring a package of Twinkies and a gallon of milk for lunch, and a bag of cookies for dinner while lying around in his underwear on the computer. My only friends are not the online geeks that have never met before but still call each other BFF’s. I have never claimed to be such that I sit around the house staring at the screen after coming home from staring at a computer all day. (Hmm wait, I think that one does apply, my wife reminds me of it all the time)

The point here is that I have a personality, and a social life, I do have friends and a family I love very much. My passion is computers, but it may surprise you that a few of my favorite things to do are not geeky. For instance, besides my passion to teach others to be a self made computer geek, I also share a great passion for music. I like all kinds as a matter of fact. From rock to country, and Christian to blues. But most of all, yes I will come out with it now, I love to sing. I have been told by people that I’m pretty dang good at it too. But I am no bragger. Ok well it gets me a lot of attention, but I’m not bragging I tell you.

Did I mention my other passion? I love to fish? Oh yea, I love to fish. For a long time, I would be content with sitting at the lake at night, staring at the sky, drinking a cold beer with as many poles as I could get away with having in the water waiting for that giant catfish to come snatch my line. My motto was "Catch a fish, or catch a buzz” most of the time it was both. Now while I love to catfish I think I enjoy bass fishing the most. The fight, the challenge, the pressure, the intensity! Man, I wish I could be at the lake every day angling for that lunker I have never caught. Back to reality here, I do love to fish, and if you love fishing too, you can relate. It is very peaceful to me, and has the effect of changing my mood instantly.

I also love to write, maybe you can tell? Ever since I was a kid, I have been writing poems, most of them love poems, but I have a few that I considered my prize winners. I have been working on writing a few books as well, but they are a long time out as I see it. From my political views (which aren’t much) to my views on life, I have written about many things. I will be posting a few of my poems here soon, but have to work out the legality of it all. If I could get paid to sit around and write all day, I just might consider it. Wait, who writes these days, I mean type all day. I might have to brush up on my typing skills, because let me tell you, just because I’m in IT, doesn’t mean I can type 40-60 words a minute.

Ok, Enough about me let me tell you about my family. (ATTENTION: All weirdo’s, stalkers, and well you know who you are, if you use this information to stalk me or my family we all have our license to conceal, because where I come from we don’t take kindly to folks of that nature) Did I mention I live in a neighborhood of pure rednecks? We got each other’s backs.Anyways, I have a wonderful wife of four years, that sometimes I am not sure how she put up with me this long. I must be a good guy. She and I met at a prior work place, and though we didn’t fall in love at first , but we both knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I mean come on, I’m irresistible, or is it her. Either way, she’s a good woman, when she’s sleeping, Just joking babe.Truthfully, though I am a typical man, and never claimed to be the most romantic guy alive, but I must be doing something right to have such a good woman in my life.

It wasn’t easy at first, trying to combine two families together. Practice makes perfect as I always say. I had to teach her a thing or two about a thing or two, and she had to teach me a whole lotta things. But hey, I gotta say it equaled out, because though we don’t always see eye to eye, we work it out in the end with a little working it out. I have always been the kind that is a dependant, but grew to be a leader. My wife has always been an independent, and just hasn’t quite realized she is a leader. (Because I don’t want her to get to comfortable and take over Ha ) I have a lot of confidence in her, and believe one day she will do great things. Now I’m not saying she isn’t doing those things already, but in a public website, you stick to the basics, ya know?

One thing my wife is an expert in, is her ability to whip up a good wholesome meal. I must say, and Mom don’t be mad (She knows to I guess) my wife is the best cook in the world and lots of others feel the same. When it comes to cooking a good Mexican dinner, she is an A+. If it wasn’t for the fact that I would blow up like a whale, and have the worst gas known to man, I would eat her Mexican dishes every day of the week. Yea yea, she takes care of me and I admit it. But without my wife, I would be nothing, and therefore she is my life. Oh and I wouldn’t be getting fat either, so thanks for that babe!

Getting to sappy for you? Well trust me, I’m not sappy that’s for sure. So as for the kids, I have three great children, but they weren’t born that way, we had to whip them into shape to get them where they are today one beating at a time. Just kidding, don’t get all bent out of shape, I don’t remember the last time I had to even whoop these kids. Of course one is nearly big enough to whoop me (He wishes). I have two teenage boys and a girl, so if you can imagine, it gets interesting around my house. The middle boy tries to stay out of the way, but the other two, well they fight like brother and sisters do. To me, it makes for an interesting life, but sometimes they get a little annoying and I have to put them in their place.

All my kids are great students in school, and that makes Mom and I very proud. Then they fight, and we threaten to contact a black market child buyer that makes children slaves for life; focusing on finding their least favorite chore and torturing them with it for eternity. Otherwise this is known as "grounding". We all get along quite well for a mixed family, her kids love me as their own, and my teenager loves her, but rebels at times like all teenagers do. Speaking of teenagers, you know how people spend their whole lives to research a particular cure to help others? Whether it’s the study of a cure for Cancer, or a research on human nature, trying to read a teenager has never been quite figured out. I challenge anyone to come up with a cure for teenagers bad attitudes, know it all ways, bad habits, and all the other traits that most teenagers possess. Now that would be a cure that any parent would buy into.

My kids all love the things that most kiddo’s like. Playing video games, and watching TV. But sometimes I have to pry them away from their game, and put them to work to teach them that they need to be our slaves to get on our good sides. Ha Ha. Really, the boys love sports, but don’t really like the work that goes along with. Football is pretty much the sport of choice around us! My girl is more about avoiding the boys, and is addicted to the Disney channel, and sponge bob. She’s as girly as her momma and shows it all the time. If only I can teach her to not be so whiny, hmmm isn’t that every mans dream….. For the most part, we all get along pretty good, and we are all content with what we have, until we win the lottery of course. I can honestly say though, I sure can’t complain, because I love my family, and we are here to stay.

Well, the only other family members I haven’t mentioned is our cat, and our new member of the family our dog Jake. In a nutshell, our cat Daisy is fat, lazy, and craps too much. She is unappreciative, self centered, and conceded. She only wants attention when her bowl is empty, her crapper is full, or her momma (My Wife) is around. She wines way to much when we haven’t been home all day, and no one was there to give her the attention she refuses to give once we are there. And did I mention her shedding skin has caused the entire family to develop allergies. But she’s pretty cool I guess.................................(I mean fat) Then there is the newest member of the family our German Sheppard dog. He’s an older dog, but very well mannered. He knows many commands, and is very smart. He loves to hang with the family, if only I can get him to stop barking at everything he see’s he’d be perfect. He’s definitely a character, which fits great with our family for sure. He’s definelty a keeper, and will be in the family forever unlike other crazy animals that didn’t play well with the family.

Well, that is all about my family, and I. I hope you were entertained with my story. I look forward to sharing other things with you in this section about my family, and all about some stories of me growing up. I will keep you updated on the things that go on in Tech-Tim’s World.
